Looking at all of the cool char-grills currently on the market, it makes it hard for us to pick the best one …they all claim to be the best.
We chose the
Char-Griller and Smoker Outlaw
for a variety of reasons.
The construction of the grill is top notch and it has an adjustable coal grate, therefore you will be able to do a wide range of grilling on the unit. You can find it for under $180, depending on where you get it from. That is a really good price for this barrel-style charcoal grill.
Description of the Outlaw
On this grill, you will have more than enough working space. The cooking area has a total of 1000+ square inches, so you can invite lots of friends over. However, the unit may not have the same type of airflow control like we see in some of the other units. Which lets you shut down and extinguish the coals, but this isn’t that big of a deal. There’s an optional firebox that you can add to this – it will turn the unit into a smoker with many good features. In addition, a pull-out tray, making for easy cleanup.
Best Char-Griller and Smoker?
If you plan on grilling some food for a large family or using it for backyard parties, then this is definitely one you should consider. The big cooking area (primary – 725 sq/in and secondary – 338 sq/in) is going to give you more than enough room to work with. It stands at around 50 inches high and weighs in at 112 pounds. Furthermore, the attached wheels make it easy to move around if needed.
The material is heavy-duty steel and a powder-coat for durability. With this type of quality, you can rest with the satisfaction of knowing this grill will be able to meet your needs for many years to come. The grill grate comes in pieces, so you will be able to easily add more charcoal when you need to. It’s not necessary to remove the entire grate.
Also, you may find it interesting that Char-Griller is a 20-year-old company that is based in Atlanta, Georgia, so they’re not new to this show.
